[Tutorial] How to get the bevel effect in Milkshape 3D

Not really. You should snap them together. Not weld. Then move them into position. Then you Weld the entire model together.

Which version are you using? Mine only gives 8 vertices for a simple cube.

Never. NEVER. Extrude vertecies. All it does is move them. You extrude faces.

Snap
Scale by .9 and flatten on the Z and Y axis.

I think you should do a tutorial explaining the more advanced MS tools.
(Flattening, welding, snapping, subdivision, spherify, and mirroring)
