I was expecting delayed sound, something similar to a vapor cone, and the sonic boom event :c
Anyways why didn't it occur when the plane was in view?

That is true, but I did it like this for cinematic effect. Plus I couldn't be bothered for the vapor cone thing.

I might be remembering wrong, but when a plane breaks the sound barrier, doesn't the boom happen immediately? Because It just met the speed of sound, and it isn't faster yet?
After the Boom, any sound the jet makes would then be delayed, but before and during it would keep up with the jet.
