They are named those because of how they were found and out of honor from the scientific community because so.
When you two discover a new element, which is highly unlikely, you too can get your own name on it or your hometown.
Oh and some of those are also actually man-made/discovered artificially, not found naturally somewhere in the earth, like Americium.
