with enough graphical mods you can entirely ruin the atmosphere the game
and make everything look ass-ugly and weird

if you're someone who loves morrowind so much i'd figure you could appreciate beauty without being super graphically intensive

welcome to being super late to the thing that everyone did the first day skyrim came out.

also, vanilla skyrim is beautiful.
I don't really get why people think the graphics are so stuffty. Sure the people and stuff don't looks the greatest, but they look fitting within their atmosphere.
I don't need things to looks "ultra realistic hd", because most of the time that stuff looks plain wrong in a video game.

There are so many places in this game that I look at and I am just like "wow". It doesn't need to look realistic and "good" it just needs to look cool, which skyrim pulls off well. as wells as morrowind, and oblivion in some places.

I meant Skyrim's atmosphere felt bad and also wildly varying texture resolutions made it look poop

otto-san:

it really is a matter of what you consider good graphically

i personally enjoy it when the graphics manage to look as close to as they would in reality as possible (bumpmaps, reflections, water improvements, etc.) to an extent i previously believed not reachable easily

the issue with this of course is that the initial "WWWWAOW" can distract too much from the actual game, and once it wears off, it's like "ehh. w/e. how can it be even better"

honestly though, vanilla skyrim is pretty good-looking. not the paradigm of graphics in games, but it's pretty gosh darn good.
