I know barely anything about it and haven't played any other elder scrolls games
they're using hypnotizing technology~!

Wow I just fought a dragon for the first time, and it was pretty damn intense. I like that the magic spells shoot in a beam rather than in ball form, but they don't go very far. Do spells go farther when they are more powerful/ are there spells with a longer range like a fireball spell?

Yeah, you can get a book of fireball.
It's stronger but you have to aim whatever,
