I haven't had any trouble using a mouse to navigate the menus, but I prefer using wasd anyways.
And if the bit about DLC is true, that's pretty damn ridiculous.

It lets you run the game at higher graphics settings, I'm not sure quite how it works, but I went from running at ultra with AA, anisotropic filtering, and render distances turned down(with the occasional frame stutter) to having everything at absolute max and running the game perfectly.
