non-linear =/= non-repetitive
--- Quote from: Extrude on July 03, 2012, 08:26:30 PM ---Literally the only new thing that was added to combat was more screen shake effects, and dramatic camera swoop, and wowie, new enemies. Fallout 3 and NV had varied enemies but still played exactly the same.

I disagree on both counts. For the combat things have been changed, the equip to left/right hand seems like a small change but it adds quite a bit. You are now able to dual wield and shieldbash. And other stuff is different so you may want to actually know what you are talking about before you say "literally the only new thing"
As for F3/NV there were a couple gameplay changes as well as a totally different feel for the game. I, along with others I've talked to, claim that the games play differently to the extent of people not liking one or the other based on the differences.
I really don't get why you have to be so pushy about these things, are you actually handicapped in some way that you can't accept people having opinions that don't match your own? Or do you really just enjoy being an starfish?

Games are always going to be repetitive if you create new save files.
This is why I've had one save file since I bought the game. :D

I've had many because I get bored of playing a certain character for too long.
It sort of happens because I create a story and goal for each individual and once I accomplish that goal I feel the need to start a new story with someone else who has different goals. (i'm a heavy roleplayer in that I create backstories and really put myself in the place of my character and think as he would)
Sometimes the story is that I was born a servant to some nobleman and I envied the noble children as I watched them train in combat, so I aspire to be a great respected warrior of the companions.
Or maybe its the same story except the noble children picked on me a lot and one day I snapped and killed them all, after escaping the gallows I lived as an outlaw my whole life until I was finally caught trying to cross the border
I also use the alternate start mod to make this process easier.

Skyrim itself is an open world game, but all the quests are pretty 1-sided.
Anti-Block:
sometimes i like to just walk in one direction for an hour in skyrim and see what i find.
