You need a steward(nearly any follower when you own a plot will have the option to be your steward) and ask them to make improvements to the house.
EDIT: also be prepared for your cows/chicekns to get owned by giants/bandits/wolves/other stuff

Bethesda needed to add a 'Hardcore' mode with harder stuff in it. Hunger, thirst, kill anyone, that type of stuff. Of course though, it'd probably end up being banned in Germany and Australia.

What some people call hardcore, other people call useless feature overkill. Just saying - Remember when they added Hunger to that blocky game?
