None of this is real, I'm sure that if you interviewed whoever did the jar textures, they'd tell you that they just through them on there to forget with people, probably the same for all the little runes on the houses and stuff.
People always delve so deep into conspiracies and the people who created the basis of the conspiracy never thought as far into the things.

I'd rather hype the stuff outta this than just sit around and wait to see what happens
being involved and forming theories is what I love about most games today (such as tf2 or portal or something)

The runes are explained by an in-game book. They're called shadowrunes or something lame like that. They tell the thieve's guild stuff.
