Either way, making your own logo would take much more time than cooltext, and the results are going to be somewhat the same. I know how to add a gradiant to an individual letter, I know how to add a glow effect. Cooltext is just faster.

Most of the cooltext effects are easy to make, they're just more time consuming than actually using cooltext.
