I really love my HTC EVO 3D and I also seldom use my ancient iPhone 3 for some of the games I bought back in the day when I purchased it.

So the camera takes pictures at 1080p, which is like 1500+ width.
That's bigger than my monitor.

Holy forget, there are probably retail cameras that aren't that good around.

The still camera is 8 Megapixels, which is pretty good for a phone.  1080p is about 2 megapixels, basically any point-and-shoot can beat that on stills, but there are a few that can shoot 1080p I believe.  I know a lot of DSLRs can.  

The thing is, the camera is an sensor are smaller than a thumbtack, which means you can't match the image quality of a full-frame DSLR.  But for being a pocket-sized phone, it's fantastic.

1080p video recording is quite unheard of, very few phones have it.

Even my new phone, which was released only 3 months ago, shoots only 720p.

It's quite excessive, imo.  If it doesnt harm battery life too much, then I don't mind.  But if it does I'd rather 720 tbh

Well yea but nowadays things on YouTube have to be HD to even get views unless they're some hilarious viral video.

Like if you decided to film an action short with a phone, the 1080p would actually be quite useful.

No he meant in terms of still pictures 2 MP is about equal to 1080p.

But yes, essentially 8 MP is 4 times 1080p if you'd consider it as such.

Yes, but it costs a lot to process images at 8mp 30 times a second, which is a resolution way more than most people can display.  Also, stepping it down to 1080i allows for a higher iso, which means images arent as dark
