I can't use custom particles or stud textures.
Badspot:
You cannot overwrite the default files. For particle effects or gui textures, you should replace them via an add-on. For brick textures you will have to wait for this feature to be implemented officially.

Shoot, how long will that be? I cant stand the white edges.
But really, the default textures shouldn't have the light areas that glow..

Well I just made the custom brick textures and particles as "read only" and they show up on my server now. I'm not sure if others can see it yet.

Where did you place the files? In the same place where the old textures were kept?
I did the same thing changing my texture edits into read only's and they did not show up in game.

Same place as always, in their respected folders.
