Author Topic: uhh any way to learn torque  (Read 660 times)

i can't decide if I want to be a scripter or a modeler but I just like modeling more even though I suck at algebra so are there any torque scripting classes thing that I can read

Time to get my quote

You are without a doubt the most helpful person on this forum.
You deserve a medal.

The most common method I've heard was to simply try reading some scripts from existing add-ons, changing it up to see what does what, as you get further in you ask questions in Coding Help.
As for tutorials, I've never seen one before.

You gotta torque my ass please.

What does torque have to do with modeling? Same with Algebra.

Scripting has to do with logic. With thinking. It does require quite a bit of cognitive skill.

I, personally, am not helped by guides. Excluding Iban's guide, which I highly recommend.

you could go with an apprenticeship, find a good scripter and work with them.

Mostly, it's just trial and error. Lots of it.

again, look at this thread and its links if you want a sort of guide.

Please do keep in mind scripting takes practice.

coding will often involve math

you put it on a dyno and run it, and that's how you get torque and understand it.

modding an addon is not scripting.

learn some c++ first. then come back and learn some torque syntax.

lol

it is scripting, it just isn't making things without any sort of support

believe it or not, TorqueScript is a scripting language.

If you're as creative as a brick, then don't bother modeling.
