Think Dual processor (Not dual as in core but dual processors sockets on the motherboard) Xeon with 64gb of RAM with 4 graphics cards.

That's more of a workstation that a personal computer. Crazy people with lots of money I guess.

Sounds like he should go buy one of apples mac pro towers even though it is a mac but those towers have insane ability to have parts swapped on them for much more powerful but I do believe it is impossible to take their processors out though.

Edit: Where in the loving world do you have 15k to spend on a computer you can buy a small car brand new with that.

Edit2:  Since my iMac model is incapable of prtscreen due to bootcamp x64 is unsupported I had to take a picture with my phone but this is what I got out of the best mac pro tower apple has to offer.

I hear one of my IDE drives constantly powering off then back on again.
Apparently it's overheating at 49°C. I don't think that's normal when my secondary idles at 28°C...
Any idea how to cool it more with very limited space? (not even 6 CM to spare)

GODDAMN YOU VISTA DEFRAGMENTATION SCHEDULE

Yeah, Windows 7 preferably. Keyboard, yes. Already have a mouse.
Come to think of it, I was only thinking of the parts for the case. Could I get a list of everything I need, except a mouse?

EDIT: Actually, could you also suggest a mouse? Preferably a wired mouse and keyboard. I don't want to have to buy batteries once and a while. :P

EDIT: Also, could you possibly list an nVidia Graphics card? I'm more fond of nVidia.
OK. I'll get you a parts list ASAP.

Yeah, except I don't know what a benchmark is or what it does for a computer.
Also, I've heard that Acer is a leading monitor manufacturer; can I trust that the screen on this one will be love?

Edit: I don't know what this means. It looks bad

A benchmark shows the performance of certain components.
That's not a good benchmark.
Yes, Acer monitors are great.

I have a Compaq 615 and I wan't to sell it,
How much can I ask for it?
$200 to $300 if you find the right buyer and if it's in the right condition.

Mine broke while on YouTube as well. Got the new one in the mail today. Works like a charm.
Glad to help.

make it $30000 and you can get 3 80 inch TVs to use as monitors  :cookieMonster:

or you could buy/build a perfectly good computer for under 2000$ and buy an assload of games for it

i think there's a certain point where there's overkill. I could use a quad or hex-core instead of my lameass x2 and a better PSU but I don't need 32 chuckleloving gigabytes of ram or more processor cores than I can count on my fingers

not sure how much 32 chuckleloving GB of ram costs, but you can get 32GB for only ~$300

Well if you get Windows 7 Ultimate, it can support over 190gb of RAM.

Is this SSD worth it for a boot drive for that laptop?

Is it possible to only load system files onto it, and have my personal junk on the laptop drive?

It honestly depends if it has 2 drive bays or not.

i mean, I know RAM is cheap as far as components go but there's a point where you won't ever need that much unless you're datamining like a dork or some debauchery like that
