Does your motherboard have a speaker attached?

Whats the benefit of having 8 cores over 6?

Are they true 8 cores?

Looking into it, most people generally believe anything 4 core+ will do you fine. I often see people debate about if certain games and applications can really utilize more than 4 cores, if higher frequency and lesser cores is a better option, etc etc.

Apparently many AMD 6 core processors are slower than Intel quad core. I can't confirm this but I've read it time and time again.

The benefit to 8? Perhaps 'future proofing' and giving yourself more room to grow if you ever need it. Is it vital you get a true 8 core processor? Probably not.

i don't think so?

Anybody have some suggestions for micro atx tower cases that will be good for a low budget gaming rig?

That fan is larger than the case I have for my mini-itx board

I find the redundancy of this somewhat irritating.
Anyone else?

^^ there is your problem

hurhurhur

I know thats not helpful.  :cookieMonster:

If he didn't plug in the two 8-pin connectors, of course the video card won't power on. Waiting for the computer to finish it's POST won't happen.

no i figured out the 8 pin things
anyway i've been playing with it
i used a vga cable to connect the mobo to the monitor directly
it gave me a splash screen and now it's saying there's no bootable device detected
which i am aware of

but the graphics cards fans still aren't spinning
it beeped once upon boot and then another beep later
it's a p8z77-v le mobo
im gonna read the POST beep codes in the manual
EDIT: my manual is saying 1 short beep can equal three things:
VGA detected (i have a VGA cable connected)
Quick boot set to disabled
No keyboard detected (there's no keyboard set up right now)

Because you're using the motherboard as the main video adapter? It disabled the card because you're using the onboard.

how do i undo this
EDIT: in the newegg video it appears when he POST'd it the graphics cards fans started spinning

There might be a BIOS setting for that.

For now, hook a DVI-to-VGA adapter up to your graphics card, and plug in the VGA cable onto that.
