Geology is about materials and how Earth has changed over time. Plate tectonics, fault lines, volcanoes, mountains, etc. If he was actually studying mountains and volcanoes as natural structures and how they are formed, it was geology. If he was just studying where they are, then that shouldn't even be considered studying them. If I was studying the international borders in Europe, I wouldn't say I was learning about Luxembourg. |
