I usually leave servers with handicapped gimmicks like that because they're annoying, so it kind of has the opposite effect on me.
I've stayed on this server for like, ever, with no extra gimmicky motivation.

and so have the other two people that frequent with you. i'm giving solutions to improve playercount, not to improve appeal to certain people. main problem is that minecraft players are like children, unless there's a gimmick they have no reason to stop playing with their stuffed bunny and play with their new firetruck unless they've developed a sentimental attachment. this is one of the reasons i avoid big servers, they have too much stupid bullstuff, but they're big. if you want to be big, gimmicky bullstuff is a good way to do it. either way, sometimes an enderdragon battle can be pretty fun.

Yeah, especially the part where it obliterates every block it touches.
I don't have a problem with events, I just don't like events that interfere with the main worlds (Overworld, Nether, End) somehow, which I guess is pretty hard to do often.

I think we would have to make the mini events something better than "hurr durr there a ender durgan on teh moontan", but we'll look into it.
What do you guys think about a new world in the near future?

If so, I say yes. I'd probably play a lot more if I didn't have a slight overload of diamond. :P
