Blockland runs surprising well under Wine in Ubuntu. I would say that it's actually smoother than on Windows. Arch Linux does not work well on my computer, though, so I don't know about that.

Ubuntu just seems loving lame after they made it look like a netbook.

I went to Arch because how free it is. Not the price, but how one user could shape it the way they want it.

I am running KDE on it (cause XFCE isn't all that great and gnome 3.x is stuff.) and using the latest nvidia drivers :3.

I hate Unity too, but you can still use it in GNOME.
