remember that snake from The Jungle Book? Kaa? And the snake from Robin Hood? Sir Hiss? They both had hypnosis powers like the ones you see in those pictures. Yeah, Disney had a thing for snakes that can hypnotize with their eyes for a little while. Guessing that's what's up there.
