I wouldn't have heard of Minecraft without watching videos of it on YouTube.
The very reason I bought Assassin's Creed is because of an enticing video I saw on YouTube.
The internet is good for media corporations. As the video stated, "Free advertisement".

I fear our government has lost its marbles.

What are they hoping to accomplish?

EDIT: From what I understood, it's to stop piracy. Right? If so, people can and will create methods to bypass this.

They're looking to censor the Internet and potentially destroy it, and make streaming of copyrighted content a felony. The sheer amount of people posting copyrighted content on the Internet would make policing it nearly impossible.

if this passes you americans really need to kick the monday out of the white house and put someone with some sense in it

it isn't called the monday house, it's the white house

this is a joke but seriously this bill is loving dumb

But what about overseas countries not owned by the US that host their own internetz?

So, i.e, Yogscast would get sued?

They would become felons, but sued? I don't think so.

Stop messing with the internet, forget

They would become felons, but sued? I don't think so.

That doesn't make sense. You can't become a felon while doing something perfectly legal before a bill is passed to make something illegal, it just doesn't make sense and congress should feel bad.

Here's a good reason for the Wallstreet protests.

Plus doing stuff like this is unconstitutional.

When will the government learn that no one controls or rules over the internet.

So far it's getting successful.
Maybe that's because none of them care enough to notice the dangers of controlling the internet.
