Author Topic: Homework question for SCIENCE.  (Read 792 times)

It's a disappointing question: how much horsepower is needed to pull 450 pounds?

I looked everywhere and all that pops up is "1hp = 550ft x lb/s" or some stuff.
x is multiplication.

This is all I need to know and stuff. Help.

My science teacher sucks and i have a C so i can't help you :f
wow that problem is easy, but i have to go now

depends on how many pounds a horse can pull

How well are you feeding the horses?

Don't you need to know how far you're pulling it?

Or am I stupid?

i dunno im just trying to get an answer

Alright so evidently one horse can pull around 2,500 pounds on average.
Divide it out, it's 4.5 horsepower.

Good. I hope. Sound reasonable?

yes, put that as your answer.

Do what?

edit: It doesn't take four and a half horses to pull 450 pounds. dammit now i feel stupid.

Unless horsepower isn't measured in actual horse terms.

I wanted to say "I don't know how much I could help. :panda:" but when I clicked "Post," it said it was locked.

Anyway, you're not in the snowstorm, right? Because if so, you wouldn't have school tomorrow.
