nobody actually cares whether or not you respect them
saying that you do not respect them will not influence them to admit they were wrong and change their ways
explaining to them what has gone wrong with them will also not make them realize how much of a richardhole they've been
and telling them to get better or get out will most certainly not help. you mentioned somewhere in your post about how he should have noticed that his being dumb doesn't affect us like he thinks it does. well, you also should have noticed by now that telling him to leave does not in any way improve the situation either

At least the first part of my little speech is a tactic that nobody has really tried yet. Everybody's told him to get out, so obviously taht wasn't going to work, but I'm pretty sure I'm the first to pull the sentimental card. Oh well, it was worth a shot, but you do make a point as well. I wouldn't recommend this strategy for every argument, but I think we're all a little desperate to get rid of Tony at this point.
