I'd wait for the first full episode of the show to judge. This first short is more classic "unexpected" internet humor. Nowadays you expect twists like this, so you don't appreciate them. It's more for the people that missed that era. Give it some time.

Edit2: Recently, they reuploaded a majority of their previous videos. This is due to a change YouTube had several months back which was incompatible with the original codecs they used, causing the videos to essentially become broken.
