Author Topic: Island Defense [TDM WIP] [PROGRESS]: Hangar, Barracks, Runway, Helipad  (Read 2108 times)

Hello fellow TDMers. Today I started working on a new TDM/CTF game called Island Defense. One team is staged on an the island in RTB Isles. Their goal is to defend the island from the attacking team who is staged offshore on an aircraft carrier.

PROGRESS SO FAR

So far I have completed the defending teams hangar, sniper/lookout post, runway, helipad and barracks.

Interior of hangar:

Once I find more planes I might add more inside. The windowed area in the back is the hangar control (for admins).

Runway:

Helipad:

Barracks:

I'm gonna try to spice up the blandish front and back walls a little later, and I'm working on the interior, still trying to figure out how to present the weapon selection that would best fit in the space.

Next up on the list is to get the aircraft carrier completed.

I NEED YOUR HELP!
If you are a good builder and can assist me in the creation of the carrier (cant build boats for stuff), that would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!

Hope you like it!
If you wanna rate you can.

It's looking interesting so far, I guess. Not much is shown though so there isn't much I can say right now.

I think you should make the entrance to the hangar bigger, remove those bricks that make it have a lower entrance, since planes don't look like they could fit in or out of there.

considering I'm only using the Fighter Jet variants (until I find different planes), they do fit in and out. Only problem with removing that wall is that the doors wouldn't take up all the extra space, that is if I keep the doors in....

UPDATES: Barracks, helipad and runway have been completed.

You could use relays to open and close doors.

?
I was saying that if I were to take out the wall above the existing doors, there would be a big gap of space there, unless you were suggesting to use bricks as doors instead of JVS.

The admins room makes me kinda iffy about how the gameplay will be. Overall, great :D

How would it effect gameplay?

and thanks!

I've played BL for a while, and I know what makes TDMs crumble. And that's fellow admins. Having seen this and participated in making some players' game a living hell, I strongly advise you remove/don't build the following: Admin Controls, Admin Team, Admin Base

Having an admin base and team, yea that's not cool. but admin controls in a way is somewhat good, because if I wanted to have an alarm and it was an open lever, in theory people could be spamming that thing like a mother. but that's just my opinion. I'm contemplating taking that room out 1) for more space and 2) not much use for it anyway.

UPDATE: Pic of barracks is added, and an opportunity for work for those who are unemployed.
