Help the show go off air?

Help the show go off air?
Keep it on, sorry for my wording.

How do we know getting enough likes on the page will make them change their mind? The proof is in the ratings, and if it's going off the air, it means the ratings aren't good enough. Simple as that. And rarely does a facebook group every change anything. Nothing changes just because a group gets a certain number of likes.

wait wait wait

since when do internet petitions help provoke the decisions of executives?

It could probably be fixed just by changing the "and" to a "but"

When has giving X "Likes" on Facebook ever actually done anything, seriously

like did NBC say "we're cancelling this show...unless you get a bunch of likes on Facebook!"

unlikely

Jesus christ, if it's a big deal to you, don't like it.

I see no facts, but okay.

Only one I've seen do something like that was OnLive which once said something like "help us get x likes on Facebook and get your next game for $1".

Invader Zim had and has amazing ratings
it got taken off the air

though it was on account of the production costs for each episode being ridiculously expensive
