Author Topic: What is it like, getting christmas presents?  (Read 1024 times)

On Christmas morning, each member of my family wakes up when they feel like it, comes downstairs and opens their respective stocking.  The stocking is filled with small assorted candies and small things, sometimes a few bits of office supplies in there too.

After everybody is awake, we grab some of the delicious breakfast my parents have made with christmas music playing in the background, then head over to the christmas tree which is so full of presents that you can't see the base of the tree.

We designate a member of the family to hand one present at a time to its respective owner, who then opens their present.  This goes on until every present has been opened, and the wrapping paper and boxes are put into either the garbage or the recycling.

After the gifts are over, we will then try out the new gifts or help clean up the breakfast dishes, then bring out plates of cookies, brownies and other baked goods and eat them while playing any new games we got as a family.

It was only a few years ago that I found out this is not how everyone does it. :c

oh my god

that sounds sweet

:c

One christmas my parents blocked a door in our basement with presents. The entire door was surrounded by presents and we had to open them all to see what was inside.
an ice hockey table was behind it C:

Buy some presents for your family and they might give you something next year.

Also, in sweden we don't celebrate thanksgiving.

dont celebrate christmas by waking up on the 25th(?) and getting presents.
instead i get presents in the evening on 24, like most people do in sweden.
