Was the event limit always locked at 1000?

Fun fact:Make a 128x baseplate with 3 layers of 4x4 plates on it filling the space, then try making the plates appear and dissapear on command.

What could you possibly be doing that requires that many events?

It's not very hard to hit 100 lines of events on one brick. You only need 10 of these bricks to hit 1000. It's not hard at all.
For example, my evented piano and harpsichords have evented songs with lots and lots of notes. The longest songs contain about 2000 notes -> 2000 eventlines.

Alright, here's what I was doing:
I was making a DM arena that can be configured into different settings on the fly.
So you could have a platform knife DM one second, and have a checkerboard rocket DM the other.
