Author Topic: My mom is a bitch (another parental topic! :D)  (Read 6310 times)

oh boy your going to have a blast when you hit your late teens. tell me how that works out
I am having a hard time connecting the previous statements to this one.
Do you mean that my behavior would change and my parent's behaviour accordingly?
Because that's not the case as in Europe you are pretty much confined to living near a university.
And seeing as the nearest university as a good 60 kilometers away, I'd have to go to a student's house before 'late teen years' hit.

I respect authority figures

but these are your parents
you should be able to argue with them
it creates a better understanding between the two of you
Arguing and being a jerk to them are two different things.

you tend to treat most authority figures like you've learnt to with your parents, so my point still stands. have fun.

Never said I argue alot with my parents.
Just said I would if they'd be complete starfishs.

my point is you don't now. there's nothing guaranteeing that won't change, in-fact the odds are against you on that one. once you do change your starfish 'put people older and more experienced than me in their place' attitude will cause some problems.

So I am a pompous douchebag because later I might just become an starfish?
Yeah you're a richard for driving into that guy's car in 2013 too.

Also, I am schooled in Belgium.
They use alot of discipline there. my orientation towards my parents is completely different. In belgium you get detention for not speaking towards your teachers with 'Sir' or 'Miss'. School is totally different then a home situation. I'm just hardwired to treat teachers with respect, even if they are starfishs, because they can impact your future.

no you're an starfish now, it's just that you haven't hit the part of your teens where your hormones hit the fan and your parents have to deal with it. you've got an starfish attitude entrenched, now you just have to wait until the relationship with your parents begins to become under stress.

So that'd be comparable to calling someone a handicap because his driving is bad and if everything turns for the worst he might just hit another car?

Also, I should probably move that edit to this post.

Me: "No. You don't know anything about technology. So stop acting like you do."

I was sympathetic until right here

thats not an apt comparison at all

Hm. Well, as I said in the edit, I wouldn't treat people who have impact on my future; that I don't know personally; without repsect. They start teaching you to not do that when you are 3 and they don't stop untill you graduate.

you're implying that your parents have less impact on your future than a teacher does?

oohhh boy

Nope. I thought you'd pick that up from that, so I added ";That I don't know personally;" just for you.

Give her the cold shoulder.
