It's one thing to be blunt when someone is completely and totally wrong to a ridiculous degree. Like, if someone seriously says that we should nuke China I will not hesitate to call them a loving idiot with no idea how the world works. But other times, someone will make a minor forget up (or state an unpopular opinion), get attacked, and grow into a bitter, hostile person. They end up flaming another user and they get flamed back in an endless cycle that only leads to madness, and nobody can ever apologize for their wrongdoings or admit that they're wrong in an argument because it's almost guaranteed you're going to have the people you pissed off or argued with coming right up to stuff all over you. This just leads to infinite stubbornness and hostility. I know I'm guilty of this but I never really noticed how bad it was until now. Guess I'm going to have to change.
Also does anyone remember that "Be Nice" campaign?
