The shading isn't as smooth because the color set that limits your range of reds wont let you make it any smoother. Also, I can see the slight shading that rims the ears in the original picture that throws off the shading on the built one making it look edgy. And the white border is the same shape and almost the same dimensions from the logo.
The edges of the shading in the original picture match up perfectly with the built one.
It still looks nice though.

Because some people just like to mess around with it, I have it as well.
As for Planr, You've clearly never used Img2brick and thus you shouldn't form any opinion about it.
This looks exactly like something img2brick would produce. It could be real but I am going with the facts on this one.
