Our culture is based on capitalism, meaning conformity, getting the best job you can get, and buying material things. If you aren't like that, then you're a loser.

I agree with the getting a good job part. There is a difference between a healthy ambition and being greedy to the point that you're shallow of other people who do not have the things you have.
