Author Topic: New Years' 2012  (Read 21057 times)

Just 1 week and 2 hours until it begins.

I'm still thinking of a schedule, but here's a draft:

December 30th or earlier: Music downloader ready for download
Note to my admins:: You also need 2 add-ons, one for the text board, and one for selecting music. Since it's just a small range of people who need this, I can give this to you guys the day of.

4PM: Party open to public
To fill the 2 hour gap: Fun activities, to be announced

6PM: Sample countdown (GMT-1), with some features stripped. Just a teaser for the next countdown.
Inactivity for ~30 minutes for me

7PM: First semi-full celebration (GMT). Still won't be as celebratory as the primary celebration (EST), but definitely more than the previous celebration.
To fill the 5 hour gap: Fun activities, to be announced
New Years' has to travel 5 hours over the ocean, so I have to plan a lot.

More music selection this year, 300 loops, so I don't have to worry as much about filling the time. This is "the moment" of the party because it will be most populated as the EST midnight approaches.

12AM: This will be the celebration, you just have to attend it (GMT-5). It will be full-featured compared to the other celebrations.
After this, I have another 3 hour period to fill. I don't know what the population of the server will be as I haven't done it after this time.
I've decided that there will be no other celebrations for the middle timezones of the US.
3AM: Final celebration for GMT-8 (west coast), will be as full-featured as the 12AM celebration.

A few notes: The population among timezones in the US is listed from greatest to least: east coast, central, west coast, mountain. I imagine that the server will be most populated for east coast, but the west coast celebration will also be heavily populated.

Fun fact: Excluding Washington DC, New Jersey has the densest amount of Blockland players per square mile. I don't have exact figures for players per square mile, however using IPs used to host does provide an accurate understanding of what state has the most Blockland players. The figures are as follows:

I'll be celebrating the EST new year. I doubt I'll be there for my own GMT new year because I have other commitments. Anyway, can't wait :D

On another note, how long is all this music going to take to download :S

I heard YoungRotations was performing?

Who are the Admins?
I have no idea.
Same admins as last year.

On another note, how long is all this music going to take to download :S
It took me 135.5 seconds (2 minutes, 15 seconds) to download the 95.5MB file.

I heard YoungRotations was performing?
Incorrect.

What timezone?
If the big celebration is for GMT-5, and that is the relative midnight for the schedule, what timezone do you think it is?

Oh, haha.
God I'm such an idiot sometimes :P

RAWK AN ROWL MAC DAWNALDZ

Is YoungRotations going to preform?
I think he should.

I think he should.
He isn't.

Let Young perform, he's great for parties.

So wait, how is he supposed to be great?
Just turning around on a dj stand clicking bricks that do nothing but lights when loops are playing on the background?

Well, I think he'd be changing the music aswell, which is technically Djing.
