Typing Like This Is The New Thing I Guess?

This is an age-old mystery that I have never been able to figure out. Why do people type like that?
It's more work to press the Shift key when typing every word, and therefore it's also something you have to be taught to do, whether by yourself or someone else. Where is this stuff coming from?

It's easy. This way, they don't have to think about capitalizing at the start of a sentence, because they're capitalizing at the start of every word! It simply requires less mental energy.
