Thank you for this now I can fool my dad to think that I am doing my Home Work instead of chatting on RTB!

BTW when will v5 be released?
When it's done.

BlockOS is a very interesting Blockland UI and script modification. It changes the title screen - but you can change the colour of the background too. There are many functions based on a normal computer, for example an obvious one is that there is a time bar, a start button, and the icons for the applications are on the side. The App Store isn't finished, unfortunately.

Auto updater works a dream <3

Edit:
Fluffy screwed up the naming of the files inside.
Now this isn't strictly true :P Your new app store renames the apps to something silly.

...
Oh yes

Err, you named the folder "Whois Client" and the GUI, for example, "Whois ClientGUI", while leaving the slug at "Whois-Client". When you download an app the name of the downloaded file is set to the slug, not the original filename, while uploading automatically creates files in the zip that contains proper meta-data. As a general rule, for the names, use the title you set in the app store but all lower-case and with no other characters than a-z, 0-9 and _, with spaces being replaced by underscores.
NOTE: Apps transferred from the old system might disobey this in special cases, for example, the slug for "Screenshot Manager" is "screenshots". The canonical way to find your slug is by (after submitting the app itself (no version submission needed)) looking at the URL for the app (if it has no versions submitted this is only accessible through the "My Apps" tab), which should look like this:
http://blockos.nullable.se/store/SLUG/

OSHT
So I finally got down to the nitty gritties of why it wouldn't open.
1 mod titled "System_PerlGen" and RTB conflicted with this, on Mac.
Can anyone confirm this for me (on the beta team)

I have a mac.. What should i do

I have a mac.. What should i do
Run BlockOS5 Build 7 with System_ReturnToBlockland and tell me if it works
:)

Nothing seems broken...

Here's some things that bugged me, just looking at the screenshot:
  • App Store is called a store despite not actually selling anything. I suppose you should call it the App Center or something if you want to be correct.
  • Tetris icon is stolen from EA's mobile version of Tetris. I seriously doubt anything will come of it but technically you shouldn't do that.

I don't see much utility in this for me so I don't really plan on using it. I run Blockland in a window with many of the same programs are already running on my desktop. However; I do think the project is kind of a cool concept and I like the idea of making the main menu more useful for people who want it, especially those that run the game in full screen or have issues with using alt-tab.

I don't know where you guys are getting your icons, but if you want a set of icons that look good and are licensed under a cc license so they are technically legal to use (if you actually care about that sort of thing), you can try here. The icons come in a wide variety of sizes and even include the original vector format of the icon so you can export it in any size you want or easily modify it. The images are categorized, things like speakers, mp3 players, floppy disks, etc, are in the devices folder. Things like text document and image file icons are generally in the mimetypes folder. Folder and trash can icons are in the places folder. If you look around you can figure it out. If you're interested in allowing people to change their icon types you could easily include several of these themes as options.

I'm a big fan of the tango theme. Most linux desktops use it, but the ones that don't I generally install it on them.

You have a point about this one.

Tetris was removed anyway.

Hey, can I apply for beta testing? Im kinda good at this sheit :P

Thank you for your feedback Wedge.

Bugs Known:
Start Menu stays up all the time. (Stays up when you click something on it, goes away ingame, comes back when you leave the game.)
Actually, you can get rid of it by clicking the start menu button again.

Beta 8 may come out soon. It includes: No restart required when downloading apps,  and a better App Store GUI!
