Author Topic: BlockOS - HOLY 100 USERS HOLY  (Read 54015 times)

Don't get your hopes up over 100 users -- people tend to try something that's weird and/or new and may stop using it.
Very well true. That still means 100 people tried it. And 5 people stopped using it.
only 5. The rest have used it in the past 1-2 days. It also keeps track on how many times they use it.
Most of them use it more than once. (According to Brian Smith)

The actual numbers right now are 94 total users and 22 people not having used it in the past 2 days.

Nope, it doesn't. It only keeps track on when they last used it (for statistical and security-related reasons), their IGN (so it can display it in credits, etc) and their IP (needed for account verification).

their IP (needed for account verification).
And this data is useful for "account verification" how?

Stop bullstuffting, you are Brian Smith.

You sign up on the site with your BLID and a password of your choosing (the password is, of course, hashed and salted). The last IP you've used is logged to make sure that A. R. Stranger can't register with your BLID. Only developers and beta testers "need" to sign up.
Only your last-used IP is stored in a way that can be associated with your BLID, however.

Very nice, but the apps seem to be lacking a common theme. Also, notepad is too brightly colored for the style of the OS.

It's also not very rounded. The "My Documents" is difficult to use, changing the background image actually requires typing, and the clock displays time in 24 hours. Other than that, its very nice.

What's the point of 12-hour clocks anyway?

Less numbers?
24-hour clocks display 6 numbers.
12-hour clocks display 6 numbers and a boolean.

What version are you on right now?
Try downloading http://blockos.nullable.se/blupdate/10 manually.

I am keeping BlockOS5,No Questions asked here.

I tried it again, it seems to work now on my resolution.
