It should not annoy anyone and if anything just improve the situation of the original argument. It's not "trolling" the insulter in any way but more like taking what said insulter placed and you completely saying you don't care.

All honesty it shouldn't bother anybody and should be getting a message through the thick skull of the person who laid down the insult.

Wrong, they are not trolling and if someone had to make this ridicule topic about it then this is sad. Learn to face facts that the person is only ignoring the insulter and basically saying that the said insulter can continue rambling on but not get anywhere.
