Pokémon VG Megathread
sir dooble:
Damn.
This is just getting better and better.
X and Y may end up being my favourite main-series Pokemon Game if they continue with all these cool features.
I'm still hoping for some sort of voice-recognition function though. :3
The concept of speaking commands to my Pokemon really appeals to me.
I'd like to stop evolutions by shouting "Stop!" at the 3DS. :3
And shouting out Commands mid-battle, or opening the bag and throwing/using an item without touching the screen.
And running through the overworld, coming to an obstacle and just saying "Bibarel, Swim!" or "Jolteon, Flash!".
Only problem I would see with it, is how nicknames would work.
But I suppose the game could give you the option to record a sound-clip of you saying the nickname, and then the next time you say it, it can start to pick it up and acknowledge it.

I'd rather have it just require you to use the Pokémon's base name. Imagine how hard it would be to use voice commands on a Japanese-nicknamed Pokémon...
Flush535:
Hordes sound like they would be a pain...
Crazy Salt:
Just imagine all the zubats.

Modern voice recognition is still very poor and paired with what is probably a very low quality microphone that's integrated in the 3DS you'd end up having to repeat yourself five times to get it to register correctly
