Anyone notice how steadily things are becoming more and more...'brutal' and 'death' related? I mean...look at Pawniard's Pokedex Entry for Pokemon Y. stuff's painful. Delphox? Mass Arsonist/Murderer.
And even more, Y's storyline straight up says that thousands of Pokemon die.

Pokemon's always been pretty loving dark, it's just that we were kids when we played it so we didn't notice the undertones. In the early games there's literally a text of you running away with your unconcious pokemon after losing, afraid. stuff was forgeted up, man.
