kompressor worked on the OctTree system. Particles were always in the engine and only one thing has ever changed with them, which was quite a few updates after retail was released.

Not really all that surprising.
When you enter Blockland, just press F1, and it will bring up a long list of a people that helped make Blockland, and some of them don't even have Blockland accounts.
