A 5 pound object sitting on a tree branch could be pushed off of the branch with mage hand to hit an opponent. It wouldn't do much damage though..

Natural 20!  You feel the magic missile getting more powerful then you've ever felt before.  You maintain it for a few more seconds and then fire it upon the mage.  The mage puts up a ward to block it but the magic missile smashes through it!  It hits for..  5 damage.
