That's from Ostinyo's tutorial, scroll down and find where it says textures. Follow it and you should be fine.

For a 1x1 brick you need to scale the model of 0.5x0.5x0.6

When doing textures it helps to have a picture of a single stud. When you click the face tool select the face and press center.

Now here's the cool part. When let's say you have a 32x32 base, click the face tool, center it and then edit your X, Y and Z axis to 32 and 32.
