Don't do it now. It tries to restore your computer to a later date.
And malware with any intelligence wouldn't be removed by it.
Just try for Rkill and Malwarebytes first.

EVERYONE has been getting this virus lately. I had it too at one point.

Download free malwarebytes, boot into safemode, run full malwarebytes scan, remove what was found and post the malwarebytes log here.

Don't system restore

Actually I don't loving know what it is.
It's called windows defender

lawl just been invaded by the trojans. history ftw.

MSE
Nope.
1. It's free. Why would it be asking for registration and halting all other antivirus programs?
2. It's not default. I've owned 5 Windows 7 computers so far and have helped with other peoples' computers running Windows 7 as well and none of them came with MSE.

He's quite obviously getting a fake anti-virus called Windows 7 Anti Virus or whatever, and it's stopped use of his real AV so he can't remove it.

I'm going to say do what uno suggested, but do it in safe mode.

YOu ahve a fake anti-virus virus. Basically it's an atni-virus program that looks like it's from Windows 7, but is actually a virus itself lol.

Does it matter whether I DL Malewarebytes in safemode or nor?

You can through safemode (with networking) just to be sure if you'd like. I usually download it off another computer but i'm sure it doesn't matter that much.

I'm actually very surprised nobody here is being an starfish.

No, but run it in safemode so the virus can't interfere with it.
