--- Quote from: Thorax on December 27, 2011, 06:05:03 PM ---Just got it yesterday and I played it on my friend's PC no problem. I come home today, load it onto my laptop (which meets the minimum specs) and log in. Lag beyond belief. It's not my internet, and I don't think it's my computer. I tried it on the family desktop (Which easily surpasses the minimum requirements). Still crap. I looked online and noticed that, despite user specs, players are receiving terrible performance. The game is unplayable. Has anyone else had this issue? Anyone know how to fix it? I've reduced all my settings (in-game) to the lowest I could get, but it hasn't improved. --- End quote --- get a better computer. I mean really. Everyone I know that's been playing has had no problems with it |

There are even people online with brand new, high-end PCs that are experiencing similar issues. |

Hours of scouring the SWTOR forums lead me to a topic that was so long the moderators had to lock it and create a new topic. And that topic was 74 pages long within a few days. These treads discuss the issue I am having (Which is a very large problem) and possible solutions fixing it. The glitch is reported to dramatically decrease fps while inside buildings, caves, etc. (Though performance returns to normal upon returning outside). There is a current "hack" that should make your game run better and has great results. Here is the post: --- Quote ---I have a little fix for FPS here. It does not fix the FPS though, it only gives you Slim gameplay. I run on low settings with CDOF, shadows and bloom off Go to your Appdata/Local/SWTOR/swtor/settings/client_settings.ini and fix it so it should look like mine other than the resolution (A little credit to a someone a few pages back for getting us on the right track about Graphics_ClipDistance = 0) Code: [Renderer] Height = 900 Width = 1600 WindowX = 8 WindowY = 30 RefreshRate = 60 DynamicLightsLimit = 0 MeshLODQuality = 0 TextureAnisotropy = 1 FarClipScale = 0.25 TextureQuality = 0 UseMinSpecShaders = true doShadows = false PlantDensity = 0 GammaRamp = 0 D3DFullScreen = false NativeHeight = 1050 NativeWidth = 1680 FullScreen = false EnableBloom = false AllowDepthOfField = false VerticalSyncState = true doBlobShadows = false enableadvenvirolighting = false Graphics_ClipDistance = 0 [Game] MoviesFolder = ..\..\Movies SwtorRegKey = SOFTWARE\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic --- End quote --- This worked for me and made the game completely playable (Though not the most pretty), so I suggest you try it if you're experiancing similar problems. Here is the link to the original topic (starting at page 73). |

I am getting it, my dad is going to buy it for me and pay for it as long as I play on his server with him. |
