but people do, and since we sorta kinda live in a democracy, people can get it to not pass

Unfortunately, talking about it on the forums won't do anything, even if the entire voting population of the United States of America viewed this site daily. You know why? Because we live in a Republic; And unless people write to their congressmen their issues of concern, the congressmen will automatically take the path that grants them the most money, which in this case is the companies trying to use money to buy the congressmen's votes.

These companies want to control the internet, and they don't need your permission. This is like your annoying little brother asking your mom if he can play your computer. The companies are going straight to the congressmen with barrels of money, because this is a Republic, not a Democracy.
