If you have a wastefield.
Full of dumpsters.
All of the dumpsters are equally big in size.
Most of the dumpsters have a small layer of trash in theim at the bottom.
One or two are almost filled to the top.
You won't notice any of this unless you voluntarily open the dumpsters.

I think he means that Tony couldn't possibly have looked at all the 5000+ pages in the topic and therefore isn't sure that they never discuss anything.

That all threads take up the same amount of space, but that it doesn't matter what size they are unless you keep entering the threads.
