They were not really bad and evil, just not democratic.
When 1 person tried to cross the border and they shot that person, the entire world was alarmed and East-germany was suddenly the death pit of doom that should be nuked and killed and burned to death.
because of 1 person doing something unacceptable.
The entire group has to have a bad image.

Oh trust me. If love companies are willingly able to manufacture My Little Pony love toys then obviously the majority is a bunch of perverts because they wouldn't make love toys if only 10% of the brony community loved ponies that much.
It's called smart marketing and obviously these love companies really hit their target.
