I developed my own typing style at a fairly early age and it works just fine. Fastest typer in any class. Sometimes people stare at me in tech classes because I type over 100 wpm. I actually start with my hands on the WASD keys and end up on the QWR keys after a while with my thumb on space.

My mom tried to make me use homerow for a while.

I never was good at it and just used henpecking.

I use my all my fingers from my left hand, pinkie for left stuff, and the other fingers for typing, and I use my pointer finger from my right hand.

I'm right handed.

I never used homerow, told that straight up to my teacher that it was wrong and in the real world, the boss doesn't care as long as you finish the stuff.
