I'm making a RPG-ish game.
I wouldn't really call it my dream game because
1. It's possible.
2. I've had muuch more implausible ideas

Your dad has already failed. He'll never understand why gamers like certain elements and how to best incorporate them because he's never interacted with them himself. Because of this, his engine will be crap.
