Making topics on your postcount

I really don't see why its necessary for people to make topics just because you hit a certain number of posts. Seriously, why is it needed? How does it affect other users or the average flow of the forums?
I could see maybe making a topic if you reach an actual milestone like 10,000 posts. But I see some topics posted just because people hit average everyday numbers. The most recent one being made because a user hit 1,000 posts. Honestly, who cares? 1,000 posts is not that big of a deal.

How exactly are we expected to reply to these topics? Congrats on hitting this amount and not getting banned? I personally just see no point in them at all. All they do is take up space. Just because you stuff yourself out of joy over a number displayed on your profile doesn't mean the rest of the forum will too.
