Before dropping into the pit in you check the torso's pockets, and find a wallet (without an ID of any sort; how/why did he come here without driving?) with $150 inside. Apparantly he was ready and willing to bribe me for admission.

You pocket the money and enter the pit. Nothing happens, so you pick up the box. It's remarkably light, weighing less than your spade. You try to take the top off but its locked shut. Attempts at prying the lid open with the spade and trowel fail. No holes are on the whole box.

As you exit the pit you hear some cars pull up to the front. Instinctively, you load your gun. You consider yourself pretty skillful with it, regularly going to the shooting range on the first Sunday of each month. You also assume those cars are here to pick up the dead lawyer.

You reenter the house and find yourself in the living room. Where to?

MOVE to the window and LOOK outside but only peek so they can't see you as easily.

You look out the window...

Whoever these thugs are they don't want you to leave. Any moment now they might choose to bust in with those Glocks and then try to take you out

You realize your lack of time. What do you do?

You have a lack of ammunition to take on these guys, but you have more in your garage, as well as a rifle. However, getting the stuff takes time and might result in the thugs having the advantage of surprise. They also might hear you as you move around boxes.

On the other hand, taking them on now gives you the advantage of surprise. You could easily take out two of them if they're caught by surprise, as long as they move out from behind those cars. However, 7 bullets doesn't give you much of a gap for errors.

EXAMINE the kitchen for some sort of a melee weapon.

With stealth, MOVE (aka crawl) to entrance, Get a good position, look for something heavy.. like a dresser, MOVE it up to the doorway, and by then they would see you, so ATTACK one of the thugs, Finish the job by MOVE - ing the heavy object infront of the entrance, and then quickly MOVE (sprint) to the garage.

EXAMINE the kitchen for some sort of a melee weapon.
You already have two decent ones (bolded items are weapons) but you discard your penknife and trowel for something sharper.

What dresser? Nothing heavy enough to block the door is near enough. Moving the table there would take too long and expose yourself in front of the kitchen window.

You squeeze off two shots and hit the front guy twice, crippling him with the first shot and hitting him in the chest with the second. He falls down and begins to bleed. The second guy runs back behind the cars.

Well, that idea failed. Now that they know you're there you have a limited amount of time to do whatever you need. Although they fear your shooting skills the fact is they outnumber you 3 to 1 and are bound to come up with a plan soon.

The guy on the ground moans. Apparantly he's just taken down but not fully dead, but the bleeding at that rate will kill him.

Find alcohol, stuff a rag in, light it, throw it.
While they're distacted, make your escape or make another molotov, but with gasoline instead of alcohol.

Taking the time to do so gives them a window of opportunity. It require you to leave the window to do so, and by the time you return to the window they might be gone (ie moved from behind the cars)

Currently they're pinned behind the cars since they know you're good with a gun and don't know how many rounds you have on you.

Are you sure to continue? Just pointing out the problems with this, however, if done and executed without problem it should take out at least two other guys. If they're already gone bythat time you could follow up by going into the garage and getting ammo; however you won't know where they are in order to deal with them.

Also, I forgot to mention that you may drive your car, if you wish, and leave the scene. If you decide to do so a map and list of destinations will be provided. Also, this is a combat scene, so moving around and running, as well as moving heavier things around (to search for stuff) requires stamina.

Can we see the map? A speedy escape may be the best choice here. If we leave we're going to want to grab the chest though.

You briefly consider leaving but the fact that the main town/city is located a distance away and the fact that two cars are blocking your driveway make you drop the idea.

Every block on that map = 1 mile

The thugs behind the cars peek out from behind the cars occasionally. You carefully move over to the counter and open a cabinet, picking up some matches. You also pick up a rag from the tabletop. However, your alcohol cupboard is away from the window, and you don't dare go get it just yet.

Let the thugs see you trying to light the rag, but be sure not to light it.

You attempt to light the towel with a match twice. The towel is wet, so it doesn't light on fire.

The thugs behind the cars don't budge, but you can see them move around through the car windows, probably conversing. You take the moment to run over to the cupboard and pull out a bottle of 1987 Shiraz wine, then dash back to the window. The men haven't moved yet. You uncork the bottle and pour yourself a cup, then proceed to stuff a dry rag into the top.
