Before dropping into the pit in you check the torso's pockets, and find a wallet (without an ID of any sort; how/why did he come here without driving?) with $150 inside. Apparantly he was ready and willing to bribe me for admission.
You pocket the money and enter the pit. Nothing happens, so you pick up the box. It's remarkably light, weighing less than your spade. You try to take the top off but its locked shut. Attempts at prying the lid open with the spade and trowel fail. No holes are on the whole box.
As you exit the pit you hear some cars pull up to the front. Instinctively, you load your gun. You consider yourself pretty skillful with it, regularly going to the shooting range on the first Sunday of each month. You also assume those cars are here to pick up the dead lawyer.
You reenter the house and find yourself in the living room. Where to?
